The capital city gets its first official look today at the group who will be running the show for the next four years.
Many municipalities, including St. John’s, will install their 2025 council this week.
The swearing-in at City Hall is set for 3:00 with the first regular meeting of council being next Tuesday.
There are five new faces on council but Mayor Danny Breen says they won’t have a lot of time to familiarize themselves with municipal politics.
“There’s a bit of a steep learning curve because we have to have a budget done very soon,” says Mayor Breen, who is serving his third term at the helm.
“We do have a busy fall ahead of us but all of the councilors are very capable and I think we’ll have a strong council moving forward.”
St. John’s has to set its tax rates by December 15.
