A 35-year-old man has been charged with weapons offences following another incident in Margaret Bowater Park in Corner Brook involving a man with a weapon.

Police were called to the park on Friday afternoon after someone with a firearm was spotted in the area.

Officers located and arrested a man without incident and a search of his property resulted in the discovery of a loaded BB gun.

Joseph Bennett was charged with careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unlawful possession of a firearm while under prohibition.

A similar incident was reported in the park earlier this month and an 18-year-old was arrested and charged.
