The union which represents Molson workers in St. John’s says no unionized jobs will be slashed as part of its restructuring.
Earlier this week, beer maker Molson-Coors announced it would slash roughly 400 jobs, or 9 per cent of its North American salaried workforce.
In a statement to VOCM News, FFAW-Unifor says the cuts will have no impact on its membership base, and only management and administrative roles are part of the changes.
The company says it must move with “urgency and make bolder decisions” regarding layoffs in order to continue its growth.
