Another one of Tony Humby’s alleged sexual assault victims has painted a very similar picture to that of others who have testified before him.

The now-37-year-old man says he was a 17-year-old high school dropout when he met Humby through a friend.

His testimony was strikingly familiar to what the court has already heard — an older man picking up teenage boys, and plying them with alcohol, cigarettes and drugs until they were indifferent to what happened.

In this man’s case, it amounted to more than a half dozen instances of anal sex at Humby’s trailer home on Hussey Drive.

It would start with drinking in Humby’s car, then his kitchen, with so-called “poppers” added to the equation, a nitrite sniffed for a brief high.

They would end up in the bedroom where they’d be “playing around,” and then, said the man, “it would just happen.”

Asked by the Crown if he gave any consent, he answered: “No, he just did it. I just stayed there. Not much you could do but just let it happen. I didn’t really know what was going on.”

Another similarity with others is the difficult road he took later, with a lengthy criminal record that has him currently incarcerated at the West Coast Correctional Centre in Stephenville.

He’s also the father of three young girls, aged 10, 5 and 2, who live with their mother.

The man admitted he went back and forth to Humby’s house numerous times over a two-year period 20 years ago.

Asked why, he answered bluntly: “Always for the booze and smokes. That’s why we went.”
