The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is applauding the Wakeham government’s trimmed-down cabinet.

Fourteen cabinet ministers were sworn-in on Wednesday, down from the 17 portfolios under the previous government.

Devin Drover says reducing the size of government will save NL taxpayers about $400,000 over the next four years.

He calls that a “positive first step” indicating that Premier Wakeham is “serious about cutting waste and finding savings for taxpayers.”
