Everyone’s talking baseball these days, but in Mount Pearl and CBS, hockey is all the rage as the two municipalities co-host the U18 Women’s National Championships.
The best players in women’s hockey from across Canada are taking to the ice starting this Sunday morning at the CBS Arena.
Mount Pearl Mayor Dave Aker says it’s a major event featuring eight elite teams from across the country with four local players playing on Team Atlantic.
“You’ll be able to see Canada’s future Olympic team members playing at this tournament,” says Aker. The week-long tournament wraps up with the championship game next weekend in CBS.
