Premier Tony Wakeham has appointed a new clerk to the executive council, which will have an impact on the negotiating team for the Churchill Falls MOU.
Effective immediately, Karen Stone takes over, replacing Denis Mahoney who had been in the position since May.
As a result of the move, Mahoney will no longer will be a part of the Churchill Falls negotiation team.
Stone has served as deputy minister in numerous portfolios, most recently in Justice. She had also served as interim CEO of NL Health Services.
