Police officers from across the region are gathering in St. John’s for the 2025 Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement Conference at the Sheraton Hotel.
Newfoundland and Labrador is hosting the conference for the first time since 2019.
Co-Chair Constable Kim Morgan of the RNC says the nature of law enforcement is changing, and the job can take a toll, which is a key topic of discussion.
“Our jobs are changing. We lost one of our own in 2024. So this is where our theme came from: ‘Strong minds, strong bodies, strong women.”
“We’ve got to take care of ourselves to take care of our communities and we need to be able to put our best steps forward to serve the people in our communities. These conferences are important to bring up topics such as our mental health, our wellness, our self-care and our work-life balance.”
