MusicNL is encouraged to see the maintenance of the Canada Music Fund in the latest federal budget.
Executive Director Tamara Kater says it’s good to see Ottawa recognize the economic impact of the music industry.
“The live sector alone,” says Kater, “produces $11 billion towards the country’s GDP, most of that in tourism.”
She says money from the Canada Music Fund goes toward events like Music NL Week in St. John’s this coming week, and helps performers develop markets and go on tour.
