An annual event in memory of a woman who went missing eight years ago is happening tonight in Mount Pearl.
Cortney Lake was last seen in June 2017 when she was picked up by a former boyfriend.
Police say Lake was the victim of a homicide, though her remains have never been found.

Every year since, Lake’s family has lit up a tree in St. David’s Park with bright purple lights in her memory.
The event is happening tonight at the park at 6:15 p.m.
Representatives from the St. Vincent de Paul food bank will also be on hand to collect non-perishable and monetary donations.
