The Liberal MHA for Burgeo-La Poile is seeking answers from the justice minister after the recent adjournment and suspension of circuit court schedules, affecting civil hearings, traffic hearings and Contraventions Act cases in St. John’s, Grand Falls-Windsor, Baie Verte, Stephenville and Port aux Basques in his own district.

Michael King says the change to the Provincial Court circuit court schedule was abrupt and came with no explanation over the weekend.

“We don’t really know what is happening,” says King, “so we’re reaching out to the minister and government to have an explanation…and to see what their plans are going forward.”
