The government is going to be talking money tomorrow as the PC administration gives us some insight into their plans, but the opposition doesn’t see how it can come close to living up to its campaign promises.
Finance Minister Craig Pardy will deliver the economic update tomorrow afternoon.
Premier Tony Wakeham has dismissed the notion of opening the House of Assembly in 2025, leaving all that activity until the spring session.
Finance Critic Sarah Stoodley says some of the measures promised by Wakeham require legislative approval, meaning the MHAs would have to be in their seats and voting in order to have them in play.
“We would have supported those bills this fall but I’m guessing it’s too late now for the upcoming tax season,” says the MHA. “But people want to know when they are going to get the tax relief they voted for.”
