The major travel outlets will be on wheels in the leadup to Christmas.
Julia Kent, a spokesperson for the CAA in Atlantic Canada, says patience is key as people make their way to their holiday destination.
Lines at the airport may be a bit longer than usual, however there are a few things travelers can do to help streamline the process.
When stuffing gifts into your luggage, Kent says it’s best not to wrap them in order to avoid any hang-ups at security.
She says it’s best to leave them unwrapped and packed on top in case it is flagged for inspection by security. Kent says some items should be placed in checked baggage rather than a carry-on bag because they may be prohibited. Items like candles and crystal, although solid, show up as liquids during the screening process so those items should be placed in checked bags to avoid any hassle.
