The provincial government is going to replace a deteriorating bridge near Holyrood.
The existing bridge, on the Salmonier Line over North Arm River, will be removed and a new precast girder one will be built in its place. It will be 20 m long and 10 m wide.
In 2022, a traffic load restriction was implemented following a site visit that identified significant deterioration. Bridge inspections conducted by Transportation and Infrastructure between 2019 and 2024 consistently reported the bridge to be in poor condition and recommended its replacement.
During the construction there will be a traffic diversion located upstream from the existing bridge.
