A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged after the vehicle he was accused of taking was located by police.
Clarenville RCMP received a complaint Saturday indicating that Phillip Verge was driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
The vehicle was eventually located on Manitoba Drive but refused to pull over for police and sped away.
A short time later the vehicle and driver were located in St. Jones Within and Verge was arrested.
He’s now facing charges including flight from police, dangerous driving, possession of stolen property, identify fraud, obstruction and possession of cocaine among other charges.
He was held to appear in court on Tuesday.
