The health minister says government is reviewing many previous commitments and programs announced by the former Liberal government.
Among them is the commitment to build a replacement for St. Clare’s on a piece of land at Kenmount Crossing. The former provincial government surprised many with the announcement one year ago, outlining plans for a new acute care hospital campus, including a cardiovascular and stroke institute.
The land deal involved caught the attention of the two Opposition parties at the time.
Minister Lela Evans says it’s now one of a number of projects and programs under review by the newly-elected government.
“We’re reviewing a lot of these commitments that have been made and….we’re looking for savings. We’re also looking at timelines on when things will be implemented. Right now I wouldn’t be able to commit specifically on St. Clare’s.”
