RCMP are seeking possible victims of the latest scam to make the rounds – this time through Facebook Marketplace.

Holyrood RCMP received a report last month from someone who paid a deposit via e-transfer for an item offered for sale on Facebook Marketplace, and believed that they were the victim of a scam.

A police investigation revealed that the social media account and the email address associated with the transaction were connection with other suspicious online activity.

RCMP believe there are other victims that have not come forward to police.

Anyone who has been the victim of a similar online Marketplace scam is asked to contact their local police detachment.
