The mayor of Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove is resigning effective New Year’s Eve.
Earlier this week, outgoing Mayor Brad Power announced publicly that he has accepted a job as the chief of communications for Premier Tony Wakeham.
Power took over the town’s top job in October in the most recent election.
Power says accepting the new job was not a consideration when he ran for mayor in the fall.
The deputy mayor, Shannon Power, will take over until a by-election.
