A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged after the vehicle he was accused of taking was located by police.
Clarenville RCMP received a complaint Saturday indicating that Phillip Verge was driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
The auto, which was eventually located on Manitoba Drive, did not pull over for police, choosing instead to burn rubber.
A short time later, the machine and driver were located in St. Jones Within and Verge was arrested.
He’s now facing charges including flight from police, dangerous driving, possession of stolen property, identity fraud, obstruction and possession of cocaine.
He was held to appear in court today.
