The Minister of Women and Gender Equality says she’s in the preliminary stages of examining the launch of a violence prevention education campaign aimed primarily at children.
Helen Conway Ottenheimer says the way to change attitudes towards violence is to get to people early.
“Looking at education, looking at changing attitudes at an early age, and that is something I think that we really need to concentrate on if we’re going to end the cycle of violence. We have to start by changing heart and minds…and we must teach our young people what healthy relationships look like.”
