You might say that a woman from the Burin Peninsula is in “hot water” after several incidents Thursday night in the Burin area which began with a break-in at a residential shed and wound down at a hot tub at another property.
RCMP got a call around 9:00 that night from a resident on Winterland Road that their ATV had been stolen. The homeowner heard a loud banging noise and went outside to investigate, where they discovered damage to the shed and their 2024 Can-Am side-by-side missing.
While officers were tending to that scene, they got a call from somebody who told them that a woman, who they did not know, was in their hot tub.
The stolen off-road vehicle was located near that scene and seized. Police say evidence linking the person in the hot tub, 47-year-old Kimberly Armstrong, to the vehicle was recovered during a search following her arrest.
Armstrong faces a total of ten charges including resisting or obstructing a police officer.
