Staff at the St. John’s SPCA hunkered down overnight Tuesday into Wednesday to take care of their animals.
The SPCA shared a photo of a dog lounging on an air mattress, saying two staff stayed the night to make sure all of their animals were taken care of until it was safe enough for more staff to come in.
Executive Director Karen Mahoney says staff take turns staying at the shelter when the weather is bad, noting that she was one of the ones who kept the animals company during another storm we had this year.
She says staff love the experience of getting to stay with their “work best friend,” meaning the animals, overnight.
