The St. John’s city manager is retiring – and he’s getting over $428,000 on his way out.
VOCM News first reported that Kevin Breen was on leave from his position earlier this month, but the city did not give any indication as to why.
Now, it has been revealed that Breen is retiring after 32 years of working with the city. He has spent the last decade as city manager.
Breen will receive hundreds of thousands of dollars from the city upon retirement.
He’ll be getting $130,318 representing six months base salary, $160,391 as a retirement allowance, $44,108 for his annual leave balance, and $93,589 for unused leave.
Derek Coffey will continue in the role of acting city manager until council considers next steps.
