Town officials hope the cleanup process of what it calls a disaster zone will begin this coming week.
One week ago, high winds compromised the building housing vats of toxic fish sauce decades-old.
Area MP Paul Connors went to Ottawa yesterday in an effort to try to get federal funding to help out.
Mayor Steve Ryan says all of the material inside as well as the building will have to be removed, a process which he says is going to take at least a month.
Most of the material inside is Gyproc and that’s been falling off on the floor and mixing with the other stuff – it’s a pure mess and it all has to be removed,” says Mayor Ryan.
