A few tense minutes in Glovertown last night as town officials prepared for the possibility of flooding due to an ice jam on the Terra Nova River.
Ice started to accumulate below the Andrew Sheppard Memorial Bridge over the weekend causing water levels to rise and affecting some basements. The local fire department went door-to-door warning residents of the possibility of an evacuation.
Area MHA Lloyd Parrott says town and provincial officials are keeping a close eye on the situation.
