A man charged in one of several recent homicides in the Rabbittown area of St. John’s was back before a judge today.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jordan Woods is charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 28-year-old man, whose name has not been released.
Police responded to a home in the centre-city neighborhood on Halloween last year, early in the afternoon.
They found the victim inside and an autopsy was performed, but the cause of death has not been disclosed.
Woods appeared in provincial court today by video from the correctional centre in Clarenville while his lawyer appeared on his behalf in St. John’s.
Jason Edwards told the court he’s received a large amount of evidence from the Crown and requires a couple of weeks to review it with his client.
The case will be called again on February 12th to potentially enter a plea to the charge.
There are currently three other Rabbittown-area homicides — two murder cases and one for manslaughter — before the courts.
