Flu cases in the province have dropped significantly, however hospitalizations are on the rise.
The provincial government’s latest figures show that while the number of lab-confirmed cases has dropped dramatically after peaking just before the new year, at least 11 people were in hospital with influenza.
Vaccination rates have increased since a public appeal went out just before Christmas.
Nearly half of the population aged 68 or older is vaccinated against influenza, while a quarter of the total population has received their shot.
