The city of St. John’s is contending with snowfall amounts as high as 70 cm from the latest winter blast.
Deputy City Manager of Public Works, Lynnann Winsor, says despite the challenges, crews are getting through the latest dumping as quickly as possible.
She says the aim is to have all plowing operations done by 4:00 p.m. tomorrow.
Then the widening begins.
“This doesn’t mean streets are widened as well as we would like them to be. That means by 4:00 tomorrow we’ll be finished our plowing operations and then shift gears and go into widening.”
“We know all areas of the city need to be widened out, and that’s something we’re working on as soon as we are able to, and we’ll be several weeks doing that,” Winsor told reporters today. “It will be dependent on other weather events that the city may experience.”)
