The NL Safety Council says navigating roads and highways following heavy snowfall can be tricky, especially with high snow banks obscuring sight planes.
Sean Kelly says it’s not unusual to have to poke your vehicle out past a snow bank, but you have to exercise extreme caution.
“Do not go if you’re not sure and you can’t see what’s coming,” says Kelly.
He also recommends that pedestrians wear high visibility coats, vests or even strips when venturing out on slippery and snow-covered roadways.
