It was a match for the ages as Canada defeated Great Britain in the gold medal match in men’s curling at the Olympics.
Brad Jacobs had to pull out all the stops to win his second Olympic gold with a 9-6 victory.
The gold in men’s curling was the icing on the cake as Rachel Homan defeated the United States earlier in the day 10-7 to win the bronze. Homan overcame a rough start to the games, but did what she had to do when the chips were down.
Jacobs, who last won the gold in 2010, said the guys’ spouses and so many others had a big role to play in their performance.
Tomorrow, it is men’s hockey that takes centre stage with Canada playing the U.S. at 9:30 a.m. for gold.
