A stranded snowmobiler is none the worse after getting stuck in the woods in central Newfoundland on the weekend.

RCMP were contacted Saturday evening about a 66-year-old snowmobiler who got stuck in a wooded area near Mount Peyton Summit.

The man contacted family to report his location and while he was not injured, he was unable to move his machine and did not have any food or water.

Officers were able to contact the man and get his coordinates.

Exploits Ground Search and Recue were called in to assist with the rescue and he was safely returned to Bishop’s Falls.
