Two people have been sent to hospital after a collision involving a tractor trailer and pickup truck near Doe Hills.

The highway is closed in both directions as crews work to remove the rig.

There is a detour available through Bellevue/Chance Cove, however road conditions in the area are poor and drivers are asked to proceed with caution.

An update will be provided when the road reopens.

The Trans-Canada Highway is closed near the Chance Cove turnoff.

First responders are on the scene of a tractor trailer off the road just west of Doe Hills.

Traffic is at a standstill as crews try to recover the rig.

There is no word on how long the TCH will be closed.
