A man who has been stranded on Witless Bay Line for the last several days is still waiting for the provincial snow clearing crews to come by.
Witless Bay Line has been closed since last week due to massive snow drifts that crews have not yet been able to address.
Speaking on VOCM Open Line with Linda Swain, Mike says there are several families in the area that are waiting to have the road cleared.
He says he lives on a dirt road, which is the responsibility of residents to clear. That has been done, but the main thoroughfare has not been touched.

Witless Bay Line frequently gets shut down during storms during the winter, but Mike says his end of the road is a lot better than other areas.
He says the end close to the TCH gets shut down frequently, which he understands because they usually get massive snow drifts. However, he is closer to the Bay Bulls side and while there is still a fair amount of snow on the road, it isn’t half as bad as the other end of it.
Mike was told there were some provincial snow blowers that started on Witless Bay Line the other day, but they didn’t go in far enough.
He says they will usually clear about 10 km in, but for this storm they only cleared 2 km – which isn’t in far enough to get them out.
