A working group’s report on issues leading to the sudden closure of a number of court services late last year is due within the next two weeks – a month later than expected.

Among the circuit court closures announced in the fall was Port aux Basques.

Michael King, the MHA for Burgeo-Lapoile questioned Justice Minister Helen Conway Ottenheimer about the delay in the House yesterday.

She says scheduling and disruptions caused by recent snowstorms are behind the delay.

“Timely access to justice is a priority for this government” says Conway Ottenheimer.
