Government is on the hunt for a new location now that the lease for the Michael Donovan Library is coming to an end.
The library has to vacate the strip mall on Topsail Road by the end of June and minister responsible Paul Dinn says he’s hopeful a new location can be secured by then.
He says the current library, which is well-used, has outgrown its current space and they’re looking for a new location that is bigger, with greater accessibility.
Ideally, he’d like it to stay in the west end and they’re currently looking at the possibility of taking up space at the Village Shopping Centre, since being on a bus route is paramount.
He says the intent is get them into a new location as soon as possible so they don’t have to store anything. “Hopefully, fingers crossed, it’ll work out,” says Dinn.
