The provincial government will conduct a statutory review of the workers’ compensation system in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Government is required by law to conduct a review every five years. Minister Mike Goosney says the members of the review committee reflect a balanced representation of employer and worker interests.
Darren Roberts, who will be the chair, is the deputy mayor of Stephenville while the vice-chair, Doug Youden, has held senior management roles in Halifax, Guyana and St. John’s.
Other members of the committee are Heather Stamp, Bernadette Coffey Sobol. and Bob Fiander.
The final report and recommendations are due by the end of next March.
