A sad ending to the search for a person reported to have fallen into the water at Neyles Brook Bridge in Central Newfoundland.

Lewisporte RCMP were alerted to the situation on Sunday and a search involving the Exploits Ground Search and Rescue team, Lewisporte Fire Department and local emergency medical services was launched.

RCMP say the person was discovered deceased earlier today.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is involved in the investigation.

No further information is being released at this time.
