A 43-year-old man from Red Head Cove on the tip of the Bay de Verde Peninsula has been charged in connection with a hit and run in Old Perlican in March.
RCMP responded after a pick up crashed into the deck of a home on Circular Avenue in Old Perlican and left the scene.
The patio was extensively damaged as a result.
RCMP later found Patrick Turpin seriously injured and unresponsive behind the wheel of a heavily damaged pickup on the Red Head Cove Road and he was taken to hospital.
A blood sample was collected and toxicology determined that Turpin’s blood alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit.
He’s scheduled to appear in Harbour Grace Provincial Court on August 5th on impaired driving charges.
