A potential labour disruption has been avoided at Marine Atlantic.
In a joint news release, both the Crown Corporation and Unifor say that, with the help of a special mediator, they have resolved their collective bargaining impasse and “were able to reach an agreement on key outstanding issues.”
A collective agreement, however, still hasn’t been reached. They say discussions, with the help of a mediator, will resume the week of July 27th on that front.
As a result of the progress that has been made, there will be no labour disruption.
