A teenager’s driver’s license has been suspended after he was clocked by police at well over double the speed limit over the weekend.
The 17-year-old was pulled over along the Great Northern Peninsula Highway just after 9:30 Saturday morning through the community of River Ponds.
The speed radar clocked the teen at 115 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
He was ticketed for excessive speed and his license was suspended.
Meanwhile, a 67-year-old man was pulled over on the same highway, this time near the community of St. Paul’s, after police say he sped up to pass a line of traffic – travelling upwards of 149 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.
That man was ticketed for speeding and crossing a solid line. His license was suspended and vehicle impounded.
