A 26-year-old man from L’Anse-au-Loup has been charged with impaired driving after police pulled a speeding vehicle over on the Trans Labrador Highway.
Forteau RCMP noticed a pickup travelling at speeds of up to 120 km/h in an 80 km/h zone around 4:30 Monday afternoon.
The driver, who had a suspended licence, failed a roadside breath test and was taken to the local detachment where he provided breath samples that were more than three times the legal limit.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in late September on charges of impaired driving, in addition to previous impaired driving charges laid against him in July.
He was ticketed for driving with a suspended licence and the pickup was seized.
