A 33-year-old man from Bishop’s Falls has been charged with impaired driving after a vehicle being driven erratically on the Trans-Canada Highway near Grand Falls-Windsor early Wednesday morning caught the attention of another driver.
Police were contacted by someone who was worried that the person behind the wheel may have been drunk.
RCMP found the vehicle a short time later in a parking lot on Cromer Avenue, and arrested the 33-year-old driver.
He was taken to the detachment where breath samples showed he was over the legal limit.
The vehicle, which contained open containers of alcohol, was seized by police while the man’s licence was suspended.
He’s scheduled to appear in court in November.
