U.S. President Donald Trump claims that Canada “has been ripping off the United States…for years” and is slapping more tariffs on Canadian products starting next year.
Claiming Canada will be “treated like a state no longer” and calling us “among the worst” in the world to deal with on trade and “other ways,” Trump says the United States doesn’t need Canada.
Trump took to Truth Social today claiming that what he calls Ottawa’s “ridiculously high tariffs” on American farms and farm products has “made life impossible” for those “great Patriots.”
That, he claims, has created a $60 billion deficit between the two countries and vows that it won’t happen anymore.
He says starting on January 1st, tariffs on all large and small cars, trucks, automotive parts and steel will be increased to 50 per cent.
