Two hikers are safe after losing their way in the interior near Buchans Tuesday night.

Police were contacted around 8:30 by two hikers who had lost their way. The pair was able to send their coordinates back to police, but were unable to find their own way back to the trail.

Volunteers with the Red Indian Lake Ground Search and Rescue located the hikers using the coordinates provided, and brought them home safely.
