A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a cab driver was robbed at knifepoint in the Ropewalk Lane area.
RNC were contacted around 7:00 Monday evening after a passenger threatened the taxi driver with a weapon and demanded cash.
A short time later, police received a complaint about a theft from a nearby home. The suspect matched the description of the man involved in the armed robbery.
RNC arrested John Fleming on Thursday.
He’s been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, forcible confinement, being unlawfully in a dwelling and theft under $5,000.
He was held to appear in court today.
