Water bombers and helicopters are back on the scene in Port Hope Simpson today battling a wildfire that broke out earlier in the week.

Ground crews are also on site working to enclose the blaze with sprinkler hose lines.

The department is urging residents to take precautions to protect their health due to reduced air quality.

The town remains under an evacuation alert, while the area of Country Road has been evacuated.
