It’s the end of an era for a popular television series that has captured the hearts of many across the province…and the country.
The final season of Son of a Critch, a series loosely based on the life of Mark Critch and his family – all intrinsically intertwined with their association with VOCM, the season premiere of which airs tonight.
Creator and Executive Producer Mark Critch says shooting of the final season – and the final show in particular – was surprisingly emotional, even for seasoned veterans like Malcolm McDowell.
“There were lots of little emotional moments leading up to filming that episode. I think people had some tears at various different times. Malcolm McDowell, despite being in A Clockwork Orange, is a big sooky-baby, so he would get quite emotional. He loves Newfoundland.”
He says he’s very happy with the final episode, and he’s pleased that it wrapped up. “It’s very rare in television that you get to start a show and finish it the way you want to, when you want to.”
