The St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival has officially unveiled its lineup ahead of its October event.
The five-day festival will feature nine full-length movies and more than two dozen short films.
It will also include a series of workshop panels for industry professionals throughout the week.
Executive Director Jenn Brown says this year’s lineup features more diverse voices than in years past.

“I’m really proud that this year, over a third of all of our films are made in Newfoundland and Labrador, which is a huge testament to the talent and the caliber of the investment from the province and our stories and our culture here,” she said.
“We also have 50 per cent of our films are directed by Indigenous, Black, and people of colour. And we have also 30 per cent of this year’s line-up are made from queer filmmakers, which is really important to share.”)
The festival gets underway on October 20.
