The supporters of a woman who has finally been reunited with her daughter who was abducted and taken to Egypt by her father say they’ll support her through the legal and jurisdictional challenges that remain.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for the child’s father.

Olivia Lynch of Violence Prevention Avalon East says it’s still not clear whether Bouchra Marbouhi – who is from Morocco – will return to Canada with her 6-year-old daughter, Tamara.

“There are some complicated legal hurdles ahead that need to be clarified, and most importantly, international communication between countries involved. So, for example, Canadian authorities to continue diplomatic and consular engagement for Global Affairs, Moroccan authorities…and Egyptian authorities to continue addressing legal and outstanding matters…and also very importantly Interpol status.”
