The School Lunch Association is reporting a cybersecurity breach involving its online lunch ordering platform.
The association says immediate steps were taken as soon as the breach was discovered, shutting the platform down and engaging IT service providers and cybersecurity experts to investigate.
Information currently available suggests that an unauthorized third party may have accessed names, phone numbers and email addresses, and the association is working to gain an understanding of the full scope of the incident.
The association believes that the risk to its participants is “low.”
More information on the breach is available on the School Lunch Association’s website.
In the meantime, the provincial government has sped up the implementation and transition to a provincial school lunch ordering system, which will be available to take orders later today.
